ARiSE: The Italian Society for Research in Economic History

ARiSE aims to foster and promote research, dissemination, and development of Economic History, understood both as an academic scientific discipline and as an approach to understanding contemporary reality. To this end, it intends to design, organize, and support initiatives through both internal and external collaboration (i.e., with national and international associations) to facilitate scientific research in the field of Economic History, promoting the quality and dissemination of its findings.

The Association is committed to fostering, while safeguarding methodological approaches and the pluralism of research, scientific and cultural exchanges both within and beyond the organization. It organizes meetings, seminars, and conferences at both national and international levels; promotes the training of young researchers in historical-economic studies; represents the interests of Economic History within the national institutions of the university system concerning teaching regulations and research; acts as an interlocutor with the competent institutions of individual universities; promotes and disseminates knowledge on topics and issues of economic history, also through the use of the most up-to-date and innovative mass media, with the aim of enhancing its interpretative contribution to the phenomena of the present; and fosters relationships with local bodies and institutions.
