Call for Applications: Gino Luzzatto Prize. The European Historical Economics Society (EHES) is pleased to announce the next edition of the Gino Luzzatto Dissertation Prize, awarded for outstanding doctoral research in economic history.
We invite submissions from scholars who defended their Ph.D. dissertations between July 2023 and June 2025. The committee is composed of Oscar Gelderblom (University of Antwerp), Safya Morshed (University of Manchester and last year’s prize winner), and Steven Nafziger (Williams College). They will evaluate all submissions and select three finalists. The finalists will be invited to present their research at the 2025 EHES conference.

A 3-page abstract of your dissertation, including a brief letter of motivation highlighting the significance of your work
A full copy of the dissertation
