Aligning historical reasoning asympotically with mathematical reasoning in elliptic and cusp form, the meta-heuristic approach is a high-dimensional, unifying, and agent-based theoretical construct. It models economic growth in the real world of non-linear, non-convex, non-ergodic, and complex ecosystems ultimately constrained by the classical limits of the physical laws of thermodynamics, including Boltzmann’s distribution and Hamilton’s principle of least action. Deploying transdisciplinary and group-theoretic analysis in an evolving institutional matrix of the state, market and society as the playing field with different curvatures, the model, Ising-like, cuts to the core issues of economics by linking its kernel with energy such that, with a reunion of “soft” and “hard” sciences, the model remains both rigorous and relevant and holds much more explanatory and predictive power than the canonical paradigm of neoclassical economics. And in light of the triad of human cognition with activation function as the ultimate source of economic growth, that is, induction, deduction, and abduction to push the endless frontier of scientific knowledge, it argues that, measured by EPE (economic productivity of energy), however, the current data-driven approach to AI, digital rather than analog, is way inefficient — relative to the human brain — in addition to pressing issues of moral concerns facing humanity in a global setting of anarchy.
