The European Society of Historical Demography is pleased to invite submissions for its 6th Conference, to be held in Bologna from 10 to 13 September 2025.

This event aims to provide a platform for scholars and researchers to present their latest findings and to encourage discussions on a wide array of topics in historical demography.

Contributions across the entire discipline of historical demography are welcomed. These may include any key topics such as family systems, migration and mobility, health and mortality, fertility and reproductive behavior, and the effects of environmental change on demographic behaviors. Papers employing innovative methodologies, comparative analyses, or interdisciplinary perspectives are particularly encouraged.

Abstracts (of no more than 900 characters) should outline the main objectives, methodology, and findings of the research, even if the latter are only preliminary at the time of submission.
