CfP: SITES-GLO 2024 Conference “Social Inclusion, Migration, and Global Inequalities” (deadline 15 maggio 2024)

The IX Annual Conference of SITES is organized jointly with the GLO Annual Conference in collaboration with the CRISEI Institute based at the Department of Business and Economics of the University of Naples Parthenope. It will be held at the University Parthenope, Naples (Italy) on 11-12-13 September 2024.

Economic development is more often coupled and curbed by social exclusion and inequalities. Within countries and regions, barriers arising from legal systems and labor market regulations or discriminatory and stigmatizing attitudes, beliefs, or perceptions prevent some groups from fully participating in political, economic, and social life. Across countries and regions, the rising trend in global migration is frequently accompanied by the increasing vulnerability of migrants in terms of citizenship, language ability, relevant skill sets, social networks, and acceptance by the natives. The conference aims to provide a forum for development and labor economists to identify the roots of social exclusion and discrimination and to discuss policies to sustain inclusive growth and reduce global inequalities.
The international SITES-GLO conference 2024 invites the submission of full papers, long abstracts, or complete sessions (three or four papers) related to the topics of the conference and the general themes of development and labor economics.
